Rescue helicopters were called out to two separate motorcycle crashes in which young men were hurt while doing jumps.
The Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter took a 21-year-old man to Nelson Hospital with abdominal injuries yesterday after he became entangled in his motorbike when it landed awkwardly during a jump in the Stanley Brook area.
Last night the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter took a 16-year-old youth to Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital with spinal injuries after he fell from a trial bike while during jumps at a rural property at Pourerere.
