Two men have been charged following an alleged violent assault on a teenager, during which the victim said he was forced to eat spicy chillies.
The alleged attack took place in Hamilton in late February, but the charges were announced today.
The men - aged 24 and 29 years old - were arrested after a search warrant at a home and were due to appear in the Hamilton District Court today.
In February, Fairfax published an interview with the victim of the alleged attack, who said he was attacked by two men who forced him to eat two bongo chillies.
Native to Fiji, bongo chillies - a type of habanero - are known for their extreme heat.
