A Tauranga woman had a gun pointed at her as she stopped them stealing her father's Mercedes, policed say.
The Merivale woman told police the three men broke into her father's car about 1.30am today.
Detective Sergeant Greg Turner said the woman reported that the men pulled a gun on her before fleeing in another car.
"They've broken into the Mercedes motor car and when challenged by the owner's daughter they've pointed a gun at her, and [then] they've decamped.
"She heard them [breaking into the car] and challenged them verbally from a window in the dwelling. It's unknown if anything has been stolen," he said.
