Two men and a youth will spend Christmas day behind bars after being arrested for an aggravated robbery of a housie evening in October.
Mangere Police Detective Sergeant Ross Ellwood said two South Auckland men and a West Auckland youth were arrested over the October 26 robbery at a church hall in Mangere.
The trio had been avoiding police since October and a dog was used to track one of the men through Otahuhu before he was caught.
Mr Ellwood said that an imitation firearm believed to have been used in the robbery had not been found.
He said that most of the 200 people attending the housie session were unaware of the robbery.
The raiders entered the back of the hall where an organiser was counting cash and got away with about $300.
The accused trio, aged 16, 18, and 24, were being held in custody and will appear in the Youth Court on December 26.
