KEY POINTS:
Two men arrested last week after security camera images of a failed burglary were posted on social networking website Facebook by police appeared in Queenstown District Court yesterday.
The Otago Daily Times reported Michael James Ede, 22, an engineer, of Lake Hayes Estate, appeared on two charges of entering a building with intent to commit a crime - one for entering the Frankton Arms Tavern and the other for entering Southern Lakes Christian School next to the tavern.
He was bailed to appear again on January 26.
Tye George McCrorie Bennet, 18, of Frankton, faced the same charges and was also bailed to appear on January 26.
Police posted the security camera pictures of a man who had taken off his balaclava when he apparently got too hot while using an angle grinder to try and get into the safe in the tavern on January 12.
