A Canterbury financier declared bankrupt three times has allegedly been threatened by men at his home in Rangiora, in North Canterbury.
Darryn Hunt, who is facing serious fraud charges, told police last week he was being threatened by four men at his North Canterbury home.
Two of the men had been arrested and charged with using threatening language, The Press newspaper reported today.
Hunt was charged last year with defrauding investors and obstructing a Serious Fraud Office (SFO) investigation.
He is due to reappear in the Christchurch District Court on February 22.
The Serious Fraud Office said the alleged fraud took place between July 2006 and 2007, when Hunt received $1.99 million from investors to fund his money-lending business.
Hunt was adjudicated bankrupt in the High Court in Christchurch for the third time, in October 2007.
His two finance companies, Cash N Go Ltd and Cash Express Christchurch Ltd, were wound up last March.
