A memorial service was held in Auckland today for pilot Brian Horrell, who was killed when an Air New Zealand airbus crashed in the sea off France last month.
The two-hour service, attended by family, friends and Mr Horrell's colleagues, was held at St Columbus Church in Botany Downs.
Mr Horrell, 52, was one of five New Zealanders and two Germans who died when the Airbus A320 plunged into the Mediterranean on November 28 .
Mr Horrell's brother Nicol, who paid tribute today, talked about his brother's love of flying, TV3 News reported.
"It was always his ambition to fly for Air New Zealand and in a lot of ways he lived his dreams."
