A memorial service later this week is being planned for avalanche victim Jonathan Morgan.
The 38-year-old employee of Alpine Guides died after being buried by snow on Friday near Totara Peak in the Ragged Range. The group of four he was guiding escaped with minor injuries.
Alpine Guides managing director Bryan Carter met with Mr Morgan';s family yesterday to arrange the service.
He says all activity at Alpine Guides stopped at the weekend out of respect for Mr Morgan, but will resume this morning.
Three weeks ago, Mr Morgan was one of two guides who were with three Australian skiers in the same area, when an avalanche claimed the life of 61-year-old Llynden Riethmuller.
