Thanks to everyone who submitted naming entries in our 'Auckland Zoo's Red Panda Naming Competition' , which recently ran on our website and Facebook page.
We're pleased to announce that the Auckland Zoo have selected the official names for the baby red pandas, which are: 'Sundar', (pronounced S uu n der) - meaning handsome, for the male red panda and 'Kesari' (pronounced K ai sari) - meaning something of saffron colour, for the female.
Congratulations to our winners Carlene Newall (Sundar) and Conor Murphy (Kesari) who have got themselves an Auckland Zoo red panda experience, for two people.
