A Kiwi soldier killed fighting in Afghanistan has been honoured in Iraq three years after her death.
Lance Corporal Jacinda Baker, 26, was killed alongside two New Zealand Defence Force colleagues when the Humvee they were travelling in hit a 20kg roadside improvised explosive device in August 2012.
Now, a medical ward in Taji Military Camp has been named in the Christchurch medic's honour.
The Jacinda Baker Ward is part of the Iraqi camp's medical centre where Lance Corporal Baker's friends and colleagues are deployed as part of the New Zealand-Australia Building Partner Capacity mission.
The New Zealand Defence Force contingent is working alongside the Australian Defence Force to train the Iraqi Security Forces (ISF).
