A Wellington bus driver accused of injuring an elderly passenger, after he allegedly pulled out from a stop too soon, has successfully argued to see medical evidence about her injuries.
Molly Amon, 94, suffered bleeding to the brain after she fell and hit her head when the bus pulled out from a stop in suburban Miramar last July.
Police allege driver Lepaio Faauga did not wait for her to be seated before driving off.
Faauga, who has entered no plea on a charge of careless driving causing injury, was late for a hearing in Wellington District Court this morning because a bus had broken down.
Defence lawyer Alasdair Ross asked to see medical evidence that could determine whether Mrs Amon had suffered an injury as a result of a fall, or if a medical incident had led to the fall.
