Philip Pigou, the manager of the South Island Shared Services Agency, was today named as the new CEO for the Medical Council of New Zealand.
Mr Pigou replaces Ms Sue Ineson, who is leaving the council to manage her own consulting business.
Prior to providing planning and funding advice for South Island district health boards, Mr Pigou was responsible for implementing national change strategies for the Health Funding Authority.
He will take up his new position in mid November.
