Police are calling for witnesses after an Auckland medical centre was robbed by a man wielding a metal bar last night.
The man walked into the Whitecross Medical Centre on Great North Road in Avondale at 9.40pm, demanding money and threatening staff with a metal bar.
He ran from the centre and drove towards New Lynn.
Police said staff described the man as a slim-built European, between 177-185cm in height, with light ginger or blonde eye lashes.
He was dressed in dark clothing, was wearing a black balaclava, and possibly spoke with an Scottish or Irish accent.
There was no description of the vehicle.
Any witnesses to the robbery and or anyone who was in the vicinity at the time was asked to contact police.
