KEY POINTS:
MediaWorks, the company behind TV3, will launch its first Freeview channel in March.
The format will be a "+1" channel which provides all of TV3's content on a one-hour delayed basis.
Freeview is high quality digital television.
The company said the +1 service in the UK proved among the most popular channels as they gave viewers the opportunity to see top-rating programming at an alternate time, rather than programming aimed strictly at a niche audience.
MediaWorks said with the launch of +1, Freeview viewers will have more options as to when they do their viewing.
Advertisers will also have an extra opportunity to expose their products, as the same ads will run on both channels.
+1 will be available on Freeview Channel 8 from Monday, March 30.
