New Zealand are fifth on the Olympic medals table - at least based on medals per population size.
The two bronze medals won on the water by boardsailors Barbara Kendall and Aaron McIntosh yesterday took New Zealand to four medals overall - from a population of 3,819,762.
On that basis, New Zealand trail only Barbados, Australia, Estonia and Switzerland among competing nations in Sydney.
