Medal lore on the net

People wanting information on New Zealand armed service medals will now be able to get much of it on the internet.

Defence Force chief Air Marshal Bruce Ferguson launched the medals section of the Defence Force website this week, providing comprehensive information on medals relevant to New Zealand from the South African War to the present.

Air Marshal Ferguson said the medals section was created because of huge interest in current and past medals awarded to military personnel.

"This has been a massive project, consisting of some 450 pages and incorporating more than 100 high-quality images of medals."
