Meat truck crashes, driver cut from wreckage

A truck carrying dead stock destined for a butchery went over a bank in Hamilton.

The truck and trailer unit crashed at around 2am. The driver had to be cut from the wreckage by emergency services.

They were working this morning to stop the load ending up in the river. A crane was being brought to the site.

The crash happened on the airport road and detours have been in place through Mystery Creek.
