Carterton Mayor Gary McPhee demonstrated his versatility when the Carterton Bowling and Croquet Club opened their 2008-09 season.
He rolled up the first bowl after patron Joan Butcher delivered the first kitty and then went onto the croquet green where he hit the first ball.
