Almost seven months after Lee McMurdo was murdered, police have revealed they are searching for a van in the hunt for his killer.
Mr McMurdo, 32, was found dead at his Helensville home by his 12-year-old daughter last July.
Police launched a homicide investigation and said Mr McMurdo, a father of three, died violently between July 26 and 29 but have refused to give the exact cause of his death.
Last night Detective Inspector Greg Cramer, head of the investigation, released a detailed description of a van they are looking for, and two men seen inside it.
"The last confirmed sighting of Lee Ross McMurdo was at 1.45pm on Tuesday July 26, 2011, at his home address," he said. "Police are eager to hear about the movements of a vehicle that was close to the address at 1675 on SH16 in the early hours of Wednesday July 27."
