McCaw and Wigmore top list of NZ's most wanted

He lifted the Rugby World Cup and turned down a knighthood. Now Richie McCaw has been crowned the most desirable male celebrity in New Zealand.

The All Black captain beat fellow rugby stars Sonny Bill Williams and Dan Carter as the three men most wanted by women, according to an online poll.

SBW, who caused a stir when his skin tight jersey was ripped off during the rugby tournament, was also considered the hottest celebrity by the gay community.

And while muddy rugby men were a hit in the Mega Kiwi Sex Survey 2012, tattooed Gin Wigmore was a firm favourite among men.

The Under My Skin singer headed off TVNZ presenter Pippa Wetzell and actress Anna Hutchinson, of Go Girls fame, in the top three.

Prime Minister John Key and wife Bronagh were nominated as our Most Sizzling Couple but failed to place in the category, a title taken instead by popular newlyweds Carter and Honor Dillon. Alison Mau and Karleen Edmonds came a close second, with radio favourites Dominic Harvey and Jay-Jay Feeney in third.
