KEY POINTS:
Mazda has launched a super-clean version of its 2 supermini.
Designed primarily for Europe. The new model is based around a three-door body shell - up to 10kg lighter than the five-door - and is powered by a 1.4-litre diesel engine.
The 50kW/160Nm machine manages 4.3l per 100km in the Combined cycle with CO2 output of just 114g/km. Gearing is up to 10 per cent taller than petrol versions, to take advantage of the diesel's extra torque.
