Auckland Mayor Len Brown and his wife Shan Inglis sold their big South Auckland house for $1.68 million - less than the asking price of $1.75 million.
The Herald reported in January that Mr Brown had sold the red brick house on a bush-covered 6970sq m site which hit the market late last year. But the Herald can now report how much the house sold for, with public records revealing the price.
The Tiffany Close, chalet-style home place is listed on the Quotable Value website as having five bedrooms and four bathrooms.
Several photos appeared in the marketing of the brick-and-tile profile of the multistorey home, its contoured landscaped backyard, in-ground swimming pool and tracks through lush bush. The house featured on several websites including Trade Me and realestate.co.nz.
Mr Brown and Ms Inglis bypassed the popular auction system, instead marketing it at a set asking price of $1.75 million.
