Matipo Primary School in West Auckland remains closed today after flooding.
Yesterday's severe weather resulted in water pouring onto school grounds and into classrooms.
The school could not be contacted today and a spokesman for the Ministry of Education said the school's switchboard had been damaged by flood waters.
Flooding was also reported at De La Salle College in Mangere, but this could not be confirmed.
