A child has died after being struck by a vehicle in a Mataura driveway in Southland.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Oakland St at 4.50pm yesterday and said that one person had died.
Senior Sergeant Brian Benn, of Dunedin, this morning confirmed that the victim was a child.
Police from Invercargill were at the scene investigating, he said.
