KEY POINTS:
Matata was hit by small earthquake this morning - its second of the week.
The 3.2 magnitude tremor was likely felt in the township around at 4.27am.
It was centred 10km north-east of Matata at a depth of 5km.
A similar-sized shake was recorded at 12.59am on Monday.
On September 30 there were two earthquakes, also near Matata, within a minute of each other which were felt throughout the Bay of Plenty.
The first measured 4.7, the second 4.5.
