Bowls Wairarapa Premier Mens Inter Club event the McKenzie Motors Sponsored sevens was concluded on Saturday 14 January with the Masterton Club holding an unbeatable lead with 41 points after the competition of the eight of nine rounds.
Second place went to the Martinborough Club with 27 points and a plus differential of 23, third place was taken by Featherston Club, also with 27 points, but with a minus differential of 5 Masterton Dark 24, Eketahuna 21, Greytown 20, Carterton 13, Lansdowne 11, South End 8.
The Womens Premier Interclub competition also sponsored by McKenzie Motors has reached a position where the Masterton Club holds an unassailable lead after seven of nine rounds with 36 points.
There are three teams equal on 20 points with Featherston on plus 26 differential, Carterton Plus 11 differential and Masterton Park with a minus 20 differential. However Featherston and Carterton have a bye to make the final result interesting Lansdowne has 14 points with a minus 28 differential as does Greytown with a minus 50 differential with Martinborough on a plus 50 Differential Eketahuna has 11 points and a minus 15 differential to south end on 11 points with a minus 79 diff.
To the initiated the differential is calculated on the difference on the game result where team A wins over team B by 14 points and the result is shown as +14 to the winner and - 14 to the loser and the totals are kept by addins or deducting the running totals as necessary.
This situation is used to separate teams with an equal number of wins or points in an extended competition over several weeks.
