Financial assistance for Masterton tertiary students and those attending UCOL Wairarapa is again being offered by Lands Trust Masterton, as part of the trust's annual educational grants programme.
The one-off scholarships are open to students undertaking approved tertiary or post-secondary education, including apprenticeships, who have either lived in the trust district or are studying at UCOL Wairarapa. Applications close on March 31.
The trust's support for UCOL Wairarapa means that the scholarships are open to anyone who studies there, regardless of whether they have lived in the trust district.
Lands trust chairman John Bunny said the financial support was designed to help as many eligible students as possible with their tertiary studies and was an extension of the trust's strong focus on supporting education in Masterton primary and secondary schools, and pre-schools.
Lands Trust Masterton is a 143-year-old public lands trust formed to own and manage surplus land not sold to Masterton's working class settlers.
