Mitre 10 Mega in Masterton won best hardware store in New Zealand at the Hardware Journal Awards in Auckland. The store on Ngaumutawa Rd has been open for only a year but has already won the Retail Store (up to 4000sq m ) category.
Directors Rex Slight and Ejvind Frederiksen accepted the award on behalf of the staff.
Mr Frederiksen said it was a great achievement.
"To win this nation-wide award less than a year after opening our doors is a huge coup for us.
"Not only does it reflect the hard work our staff have put in to create a store that has top customer service, but it also reflects how the people of Wairarapa have embraced us and for that we thank them."
