Masterton's Tony Price won his age group masters title at the North Island cross-country championships in Taupo on Saturday.
Price had almost 30secs to spare from his nearest rival in the men's 55-60yrs division, covering the 6km in 22mins 18secs, 1sec inside the old course record for his age group.
Another local to shine was Tom Quinn who contested the men's 16yrs grade. He was always well placed in a quality line-up racing over 5km and finished 16th in a time of 18mins.
Meanwhile, race seven of the Trust House cross-country series was held at Jim and Barbara Barr's farm at Mauriceville on Sunday with Graeme Butcher recording fastest time over the 6km course.
