A Masterton 25-year-old has been arrested and charged with defacing 23 properties.
Senior Sergeant Mike Sutton said the Masterton man was reported to police by a resident who saw him spray painting their property on Thursday and while talking to him he admitted a further 22 graffiti paintings which had popped up around the town in the past two months.
He had allegedly left graffiti on a number of buildings, including the Masterton District Council buildings, commercial and retail properties within Masterton.
The man has been charged with 23 offences of wilful damage and will appear in Masterton District Court on September 11.
"Police are working with the affected property owners to seek reparation for the damage caused to buildings," he said.
