A Masterton man charged over the death of a teenager in a car crash last year has made a brief appearance in court.
Eamonn Mathew Woods appeared before Judge Barbara Morris in Masterton District Court yesterday, where his defence lawyer Noel Sainsbury, speaking through fellow lawyer Jock Blathwayt, asked for a four-week adjournment so expert advice could be sought.
Woods pleaded not guilty to a charge of careless driving causing the death of Laura Jessop, 19, last May.
The single-car crash happened on Castlepoint Rd about 7pm.
Judge Morris remanded Woods on bail, with a case review scheduled for May 25.
