KEY POINTS:
The condition of a 17-year-old man, admitted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was allegedly punched and fell on to concrete pad, has improved, police said today.
The man fell from a wooden deck on to a concrete pad about a metre below at a house in Wyndham Street, Carterton, early on Sunday morning, Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Borrell said.
He was taken to Masterton Hospital and later airlifted to Wellington Hospital, where he was in a critical condition.
His condition had improved today and he was making steady progress, said Mr Borrell.
Police said they would like to speak to all of the 60 young people who were at the party.
A 21-year old man was to appear in Masterton District Court in relation to the incident.
