A 76-year-old man facing numerous sex assault charges, including one of doing an indecent act with a dog, has intimated he will plead guilty to the charges.
The man, from Masterton, also faces charges of indecent assault on a girl under 12, unlawful sexual connection with a girl under 12, indecent assault of a girl aged between 12 and 16, other sexual violation offences, rape of a girl over 16 and unlawful sexual connection with a girl over 16.
The alleged assaults took place in Wellington and Tolaga Bay between 1970 and 1992.
The charges are linked to the same alleged victim, who was aged between about 4 and 16 during the offending.
Judge Barbara Morris imposed interim name suppression when the man appeared in Masterton District Court yesterday, to protect the identity of his victim, who is related to him.
