The departing chairwoman of Greater Wellington Regional Council Fran Wilde, is to get a letter of appreciation from the Masterton District Council.
That was agreed at a council meeting this week after councillor Gary Caffell proposed it.
Mr Caffell said Ms Wilde had done a lot of work in the interests of the district over the years that should not be coloured by her advocacy for a Wellington super city.
"She has been a great supporter of Wairarapa in many ways."
