Master Chef to share culinary arts

Opaki School will host 2015 Master Chef Tim Read as part of the annual Yarns in Barns Literary Festival.

The culinary event is at the Opaki School Hall from 7.30pm on May 31 in association with Hedley's Booksellers in Masterton.

Read will discuss his philosophies about dining and food preparation and will give a cooking demonstration that will feature recipes from his book, Gather.

Event sponsors include Eketahuna Meats, Hedleys Booksellers and UCOL hospitality and catering students, who will help Friends of Opaki Committee with the catering.

The event will feature events throughout Wairarapa from May 27 to June 5.

Tickets for the evening with Tim Read cost $25, including a glass of beer, juice or Wairarapa wine and food tastings, and may be bought from the Opaki School Office, Hedleys Booksellers in Queen Street and online at www. hedleys.co.nz
