Firefighters are dampening down hot spots at a rural location near Cambridge following a massive shed fire in the early hours of this morning.
The fire occurred at a property on Kaipaki Rd in Ohaupo and was brought to the attention of emergency services around 3.40am, northern fire communications shift manager Steven Smith said.
The fire went to "second alarm" and four tankers and four fire trucks attended at the height of the blaze, Mr Smith said.
The fire took hold in two large corrugated iron buildings, 30 metres by 10m, one of which had gas bottles inside.
The fire was "well involved" when the fire service arrived, Mr Smith said.
