A woman charged with murder after a man was found dead in an Auckland house at the weekend was today remanded in custody by consent.
The woman, 61, is due to reappear in Waitakere District Court next Monday.
She was granted interim name suppression until then, with the order also covering her relationship with the deceased.
Judge Lisa Tremewan said the adjournment would allow her defence lawyer, Sanjay Patel, to talk to police and also look into any matters the court should be aware of.
The woman limped as she walked into the dock and occasionally smiled at a group of supporters in the courtroom.
Police were called to an address in the West Auckland suburb of Massey about 7.20pm on Saturday.
They found the body of a man in the house and a woman waiting for them.
Police have said no one else was being sought in relation to the death.
