A large fight has broken out outside the QBE Stadium on Auckland's North Shore where the All Whites had just thrashed the Solomon Islands 6-1.
An eyewitness said he was picking up his son after the game finished when a fight erupted among about 40 to 50 people who had gathered in the McDonald's carpark on Coliseum Dr.
The man said one group took off, running down Albany Highway chased by another group.
"There were punches being thrown. It was pretty ugly," he said. "The danger was, it was just when the soccer was finishing so there were all the kids around."
He said police were on the scene quickly and appeared to have arrested quite a few people.
