Richard Mason will be "all guns blazing" in the Rally of Wairarapa from April 27-29.
The Masterton ace lost valuable ground in his bid to win a fourth national crown when forced to withdraw from the first-day action on stage three of the Brother International Rally of Whangarei last weekend and is intent on rectifying that situation on home territory.
"It does make Wairarapa important for us, we have to make every post a winner there," Mason said yesterday. "It will be all guns blazing, there will be no other way."
Mason and co-driver, wife Sara, had their Whangarei hopes dashed when they broke a rear differential, something Mason can't ever recall happening to him before in his long and distinguished rallying career.
"We were really pleased with our second stage and were looking good and then the diff broke and that was it," he said.
