A masked man robbed a Whangarei service station yesterday morning, police say.
The man entered the Mobil on Walton St about 9am and demanded cash from the attendant.
Police said he did not present a weapon or threaten the attendant but put his hand in his pocket intimating that he had some form of weapon.
The attendant handed over some cash and the man left.
He was described as Maori, about 1.75m tall. He was wearing a denim jacket with light grey sweatshirt sleeves and a hood, light blue chino-style track pants with a white draw cord, grey socks and had a white cloth handkerchief over his face.
