Maserati has a stylish power play lined up for the Paris International Motorshow next month.
It will take the covers off the quickest model in its range - the GranTurismo MC Stradale when the event opens on October 2.
The Stradale is inspired by motorsport versions of the GranTurismo, including the one-make competition car Trofeo GranTurismo MC and the stunning GT4 racecar.
Lighter and more powerful than the rest of the range, the MC Stradale gets a re-jigged aero package and sharpened up handling, further bridging the gap between road and race.
Maserati claims the new 336kW version of the GranTurismo S' 4.7-litre V8 will not use anymore fuel than its stablemate, and will allow enthusiastic drivers to breach the 300km/h mark "where the law permits".
It will go on sale in Europe in early 2011, and will launch in New Zealand closer to the end of the year. Pricing and full spec are yet to be announced, although it is likely that the car will be sold in very limited numbers.
