LOS ANGELES - US investigators probing Heath Ledger's drug death say they may subpoena Mary-Kate Olsen if the actress continues to avoid requests for an interview.
There were reports the famous twin, who was rumoured to be romantically linked to Ledger, was handed a subpoena yesterday and would be forced to appear before a grand jury.
An official with knowledge of the US Drug Enforcement Administration investigation into Ledger's death said the report was not true.
However, the official did not rule out the 22-year-old former child star being served with a subpoena in the future.
"She may be subpoenaed," the official told AAP today.
"It hasn't happened yet.
"It's an ongoing investigation."
Ledger, 28, was found dead on January 22 in a Manhattan apartment he was renting from Olsen.
The New York Medical Examiner's Office conducted the autopsy on the Australian and ruled he died from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs, including powerful painkillers oxycodone and hydrocodone and anti-anxiety pills.
