A Martinborough man has been charged with carrying an imitation firearm, in connection with an armed offenders call-out to the town on Monday.
Reuben Kelvin Flutey, 23, appeared in the Masterton District Court yesterday and was remanded without plea, on bail to a Masterton address.
Flutey is charged with carrying an imitation firearm, namely a toy replica short-barrel rifle, except for some lawful, proper and sufficient purpose, in Martinborough on March 28.
He is also charged with threatening to cause grievous bodily harm to two people.
Police prosecutor Senior Sergeant Nick Newbery said police did not oppose bail.
