Martinborough confirmed their favouritism for the Wairarapa regional one tennis competition this season when they scored a comfortable 7-2 win over nearest challengers Opaki at Martinborough on Saturday.
The men's singles saw Russell Broughton's straight sets win over Steve Chapman for Opaki nullified by the home team winning the other three matches in that section, all of them in straight sets.
With Opaki missing their top ranked woman Katie Wyeth it was hardly surprising that Martinborough dominated in the women's singles as well and they also had the edge in the doubles.
