Martin Devlin will be confirmed today as the new breakfast host on Radio Hauraki.
Devlin, who has been a sports announcer on RadioLive for several years, is expected to resign from MediaWorks to take up the job with Hauraki, which is owned by opposition The Radio Network.
Devlin made his name with TRN station Radio Sport.
Rumours have persisted that Devlin would defect since the Herald on Sunday's Spy section last week broke the news about Hauraki's breakfast team of Nick Trott, Mel Homer and Dean Young being taken off air over a contractual dispute.
The father-of-two has won Sports Broadcaster of the Year six times and also fronted TVNZ's coverage of the Fifa World Cup.
