A popular Marlborough Sounds camping ground is about to undergo a $2.2 million facelift, the Government announced today.
The upgrade of the Department of Conservation site at Momorangi Bay in Queen Charlotte Sound is part of a wider government project to create more camping sites and improve existing ones, Conservation Minister Nick Smith said today.
"These upgrades at Momorangi Bay mean the 23,500 people who stay at the campground each year can now look forward to an even better experience in this jewel of the Marlborough Sounds."
The Government was putting a greater emphasis on recreation and ensuring campers could "get out and enjoy the great outdoors at an affordable cost", Dr Smith said.
