Firefighters have got on top of a scrub fire in Marlborough, and today it's a case of ensuring there are no flare-ups.
The fire has been burning in 25 hectares of bush in steep terrain on Vernon Station, near Blenheim.
Fire service spokesman Brent Dunn says helicopters have been used to help ground crews gain control.
This morning a plane with infrared equipment will fly over the area looking for hot spots.
