Marlborough cyclist dies after colliding with car

A cyclist has died after he collided with a car near Spring Creek, Marlborough, early this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene on State Highway 1 just after 12.30am, and the man was taken to hospital, but unfortunately he died of his injuries.

The two occupants of the car were uninjured.

Blenheim police and serious crash investigation are investigating the scene and detours are in place.
