KEY POINTS:
A man killed after his four-wheel-drive collided head-on with a truck near Pelorus Bridge in Marlborough on Monday has been named.
He was Michael Phillip Kerr, 49, of Ronga Valley, near Rai Valley, 27km northwest of Havelock.
Police said it apppeared that Mr Kerr had inched over the centre line to check for oncoming traffic as he followed another car, when his vehicle collided with the truck on State Highway 6, a few hundred metres on the Rai Valley side of Pelorus Bridge.
