Mark Todd has won New Zealand's first medal of the Sydney Olympics, holding on to win the bronze medal in the individual three-day event.
Todd, riding Eyespy II, was third going into Friday's show-jumping round, and he had to wait to see if he had won the bronze after incurring a time penalty in his round.
Luckily for Todd, Greek rider Heidi Antikatzidis, on Michaelmas, knocked over two rails allowing the New Zealander to regain his position.
David O'Connor of the US on Custom Made won gold and Australian Andrew Hoy on Swizzle In rode from fourth position to win the silver.
* Mark Todd is considered by his peers the greatest event rider ever.
